Today has been one of those days I would like to remember. . My grandchildren are visiting here in Torrevieja, spending a few days with their grandparents. . They are little and require a lot of energy, so before they wake up, I went out early like every day for my morning walk; I love the feeling of the cool sand playfully dodging the small waves as they approach.. . I just have to cross the street, and yet, the beach is so pleasant at this hour! When there's still hardly anyone around.... . On the way back, I wanted to surprise my family and couldn't resist buying freshly made churros with chocolate for breakfast. . I set up the table on the terrace where the sun has been caressing the area for a while. It's my favorite spot; there, I can spend hours doing nothing more than gazing at the sea. Once, we even spotted a group of dolphins swimming near the coast.. . Another favorite spot of mine is the back part of the terrace. We're on the ninth floor, and there's no one above us, so at sunset, in silence, you can see beautiful sunsets over La Mata lagoon.. . A few years ago, when we decided to move here permanently, we renovated the entire apartment to our liking, installing good quality windows to protect us from the heat, a good air conditioning system, and all the carpentry, kitchen, and bathrooms are also new.. . Today, the kids had a lot of fun, made friends, and after an intense day at the beach and a good nap, we got dressed up and took them to the fair, which is just around the corner. There's a lot of atmosphere, and the ice creams from the Plaza are some of the best we've tried.. . This is my ideal day. The simple things that life offers me, and I have them there whenever I want. In my home.. . Now it's time for another family to enjoy them, and hopefully, they will be at least as happy as we have been here.
